The MeToo movement has created a rage in Indian from past few weeks. Every working arena, be it Bollywood, TV industry, politics or media; everyone faced the heat of this movement as women gathered the courage to come clean about their horrific sexual assault/ harassment incidents. Many big shot celebs openly supported the movement and the latest addition is musical legend, A.R. Rahman.

Rahman took to twitter to express his views, he tweeted: “Been observing the #metoo movement… Some of the names have shocked me... both the victims and their perpetrators… I would love to see our industry become cleaner and respectful of women… More power to all the victims coming forward!!Social media offers great freedom for victims to speak up, however, we should be careful in creating a new internet justice system, in case it's misused."

Rahman expressed his views after his long-time associate, lyricist Vairamuthu was accused of sexual misconduct by many women. Even famous singer Chinmayi Sripada also accused the man of sexual harassment, when Chinmayi saw Rahman’s tweet, she immediately retweeted it and felt a sigh of relief as she got Rahman’s support.

However, accused lyricist Vairamuthu has denied all alegations and has said: “I am waiting to face it. I have been in deep discussion with senior lawyers and intellectuals over the past week. I have gathered unshakeable evidence. You can file a case.”
