Do you know you might be making mistakes in your kitchen? There are many edible and non-edible items that need to be refrigerated. Every product comes with a label on which a certain temperature is mentioned as to what environment suits the product. When this temperature is not maintained around that product, it starts degrading.
Here are a few products that you should refrigerate-
1. Dried fruit
Dried fruits should be placed in the refrigerator. You can use the stored dried fruits for over months. Wrinkly prunes, pears, figs, and peaches are some of those fruits.
2. Ketchup
The high acidic content of ketchup makes it bacteria resistant. Storing ketchup in the refrigerator can help in keeping the flavour and freshness of ketchup intact for long.
3. Avocado
It is usually thought that avocados should be kept in the fridge only after they get cut but the full fruit should be stored in the fridge. They can be kept fresh for up to two weeks. To keep half of an avocado fresh for longer, keep the pit in it and sprinkle it with lemon juice before storing.
4. Nail polish
While we just read about the edible items that should be stored at a low temperature, even nonedible items can be stored. Beauty products like nail polish should be kept in the fridge as the colour and consistency remains intact.
5. Cut flowers
Flowers can be retained if they are kept in the refrigerator. The cold will prevent the buds from wilting.
