Sarfarosh was a massive hit and had Aamiir Khan, Naseeruddin Shah and Sonali Bendre play pivotal roles. Now, after 19 years the sequel of the cop drama is panning out where John Abraham will be seen replacing Aamir, the film will be helmed by John Matthew Matthan.
John talked about the sequel and said: “John Mathew Matthan and I are co-producing the film. We are still working on the script, but, yes, it’s happening with me. We plan to go on floors next year. He is probably the only director whose house I went to after seeing Sarfarosh and said, ‘Man what a film’.”
Lately, John has been signing films that are centered on patriotism. Parmanu, Satyamev Jayte and now Sarfarosh 2. Looks like John is getting way too inspired from his buddy in B-town – Akshay Kumar.
Sarfarosh traced the story of a cop who is investigating a case of illegal arms transactions and cross border terrorism and it had taken around 7 years for the makers to come up with a coherent script.
Thus, it will be interesting to see the subject matter of Sarfarosh 2. People are already intrigued after this news broke out and they just cannot wait for the sequel.
Speaking about his choice in films, the actor said, “This is probably an inflection point in my career where I can say, at least in terms of the cinema that I’m getting out as a producer, as an actor, the next five years are probably [going to be] my best years.”
