Kangana Ranaut is a woman with many talents; currently, she has taken charge of the remaining shoot schedule for her upcoming film Manikarnika. She has donned the hat of a director for a few patchwork scenes as the film’s director, Krish is now busy shooting for the NTR biopic.
A source close to the film quotes: “Yes, there is some patchwork still to be completed and Krish has got busy with the NTR biopic. He is not to be blamed, Manikarnika is a period drama and such movies takes time. Kangana speaks to Krish over the phone almost every day to discuss the filming. He is there in spirit with the team of Vijayendra Prasad who has written the story and screenplay, and Prasoon Joshi who has penned the dialogue and lyrics, working closely with Kangana to wrap up the film.”
The biopic on NT Rama Rao starring Nandamuri Balakrishnan and Vidya Balan is slated for an early 2019 release, thus, it is taking Krish a lot of time and he is not able to complete Manikarnika.
Talking about her role in the film, Kangana says: “It’s an iconic role. I learnt sword fighting and horse riding. I got fever after two days of galloping on a horse, I can only imagine the muscles of steel and nerves of thunderbolt Laxmibai had...I don’t feel anywhere close to her greatness, I have tried my best though.”
Produced by Zee Studios, in association with Jain, Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi, is slated to release on January 25 next year.
