Bollywood is obsessed with south remakes and why not? The south remakes have done wonders at the box office. Recently, we heard that Ranveer Singh’s Simbaa and Shahid Kapoor’s Arjun Reddy are south remakes; now to join the league another young actor has hopped in and it is none other than the very charismatic Sushant Singh Rajput. A source close to the actor reveals: “Sushant Singh Rajput has expressed a keen interest in a Malayalam film. He has set up his own production company and has already announced a few projects that will be made under his banner. One of them will be the Hindi remake of Bangalore Days.”
Bangalore Days was released in 2014 and met critical acclaim; Dulquer Salman was highly praised for his acting chops. The film traced the journey of three cousins who lose touch after school but are reunited in Bangalore. The way they reconnect and support each other is what the movie is about. Reportedly, Sushant has loved this film and is keen on making this, the source reveals: “Sushant liked the film’s concept and how it imparts a message in a subtle way. He wants to play Nivin Pauly’s character (that of an engineer) because he connected with it. He’s also currently in discussions with producer Vivek Rangachari, who currently has the rights for the Hindi remake. It remains to be seen whether the Raabta actor acquires the rights or co-produces the film with Vivek.”
Currently, the MS Dhoni biopic actor is busy shooting for the remake of ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ in Jamshedpur.
